There has always been a rumour that the King of Genge Jua Cali and the Godfather of Genge, Nonini, are sworn enemies.

That’s why fans got excited when the duo was spotted hugging recently at Nonini’s birthday at Asmara Lounge. Heads Up reached out to both of them and it turns out they have been friends all along.


“Our alleged beef was actually a creation of the media. Jua Cali and I have never disagreed at any one point. Besides, we grew up together in California. I think the main problem is because we never recorded collabos together,” Nonini told Heads Up.

Jua Cali echoed the same sentiments and went ahead to clarify why they never recorded. “When it comes to music, that’s a whole issue. Professionally, we took our own different paths before we could consider recording any music together,” Jua Cali, who is recording his fourth album, said.
