She ate pineapples, paw paws and fruit salads and as she left Acacia Premier, international celebrity Victoria Beckham had confessions togive about the lake side city.

“I love the breeze here and the hospitality I have received from anyone I have met. This is home, away from home. The people here are really hospitable,” she said as she left Acacia Premier, Kisumu’s top tourism hotel.

The fashion icon who is also a goodwill ambassador for charity UNAIDS was in Kenya to witness the impact the beyond zero campaign spearheaded by the fi rst lady Margaret Kenyatta.


She was accompanied by her son Brooklyn. “Victoria was really down to earth. She enjoyed every moment here and our sta­ had an easy time with her. You could see how she was impressed by the way she appreciated the services. She in particular liked our salads and even after she was served with paw paws, she asked to get a second portion. We are glad that she chose Acacia,” said the Acacia Premier general manager Duncan Mwangi.

“She extremely loved the avocado salad which she had for lunch. For breakfast she loved Kenyan mangoes and pineapples. She was extremely excited and was very appreciative of the hospitality and the gentleness of the people,” Duncan said. The hotel recently hosted Hollywood Star Lupita Nyong’o who has since told of the hotel’s beauty in her latest interview with the Vogue.
